This week's re-opening of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has them back in the news. Roberta Smith, art critic for the New York Times, practically gushed about the museum in a review entitled "SFMoMA's Expansion Sets a New Standard for Museums."
The Fishers are mentioned in the review, because included in SFMoMA are over one thousand works from the their collection of postwar art. About one fourth of those works are currently on display for the re-opening. It would mistake to write they are part of SFMoMA's permanent collection. The museum has them on a one-hundred-year loan, with which Roberta Smith takes issue in her otherwise glowing review.
