A Dog's Tale, Signed
[Signed] Dorrance, Gordon. A Dog’s Tale, The True Tale of Little Chickie Chihuahua. First Edition. 1963. Book is in very good condition; dust jacket is in very good minus condition—jacket shows fading to the spine and minor edge tears/creasing. Book is inscribed by the late author’s wife, “To Roseanne Klinefetter, aspiring champion and a great lady, With admiration, Emile Dorrance, Friday, June 25, 1965.” Edited by the author’s wife, Emile Dorrance.
Ask anyone who has ever known a Chihuahua; loyalty and bravery come in very small packages. As such, is it any surprise that Senorita Chiquita Mia (Chickie for short) accompanied her master into military service during World War II? He writes of their experiences from her perspective, including a dog’s Ten Commandments at the end. This is not a common book, particularly in dust jacket.
“Don’t be a fair-weather friend; we aren’t.”
