If experience is the best teacher, few women were more qualified than Zsa Zsa Gabor to write a book about catching a husband. She collected nearly as many husbands (nine) as film credits. While her record at keeping men may be open to debate, her credentials at finding them were beyond dispute. Like its author, the book is witty, glamorous, outrageous, and occasionally even sensible. The underlying philosophy is that all is fair not only in love and war, but also in marriage and divorce. When evaluating a prospective husband, Gabor advises that romance and tenderness are not enough. Equally important is how gracious he is likely to be both during and after the inevitable divorce. Whether offered seriously or tongue-in-cheek, the result is an entertaining blend of Hollywood glamour, worldly cynicism, and hard-earned experience.
