Wait for Me! Memoirs of the Youngest Mitford Sister, Signed
[Signed] Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire. Wait for Me! Memoirs of the Youngest Mitford Sister. First English Edition. 2010. Book and dust jacket are in very good condition. Book is signed “Deborah Devonshire” on the title page.
One of the most interesting qualities of this youngest Mitford sister, who rescued the magnificent Chatsworth estate from the tax collector, is that though impeccably aristocratic, she was paradoxically down to earth. Her style never varied, whether discussing the glamour of attending the Paris collections or the particulars of her prize-winning hens. This fascinating memoir was the latest word on all matters Mitford, and given the Duchess’s recent death, sadly one of the last.
“Nancy [Mitford] stayed with us when [our son] Stoker was about two and a half. ‘Can you talk?’ she asked him. ‘Not yet,’ he replied.”
--Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire
