It has been said that though “young love is the sweetest, old love is the deepest.” For the most fortunate, the former matures into the latter. Such is the case with the star-crossed young lovers in this 1930s interpretation of Romeo and Juliet. It is an old-fashioned novel, but there is a lot to like. In addition to the marvelous period dust jacket illustration, the female protagonist is called “Halcyon Day” (which is now our new favorite name here at NHL).
