In the Russian Style, Signed by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
[Signed, Presentation] Onassis, Jacqueline (ed.) In the Russian Style. First Edition. 1976. Book and dust jacket are both in very good minus condition—musty scent to pages and rubbing/edgewear to jacket. Book is inscribed, “For Thomas J. Roderick, with appreciation and all best wishes—Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.”
Jacqueline Onassis exercised caution when using her famous name to further her career in publishing. This is one of only a few titles in which she permitted her name to be used. It was published in conjunction with her great friend Diana Vreeland’s costume exhibition of the same name. This copy is inscribed to Tommy Roderick, a trusted aide and longtime chauffer to the Kennedy family. He was with Joe and Rose when they learned their son the president had been assassinated. His account of that day is reported in many books.
“I always wanted to be some kind of writer or newspaper reporter. But after college... I did other things.”
--Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
