[Signed Presentation to Kim Basinger] LaChapelle, David. LaChapelle Land. First Edition. 1996. Hardcover in slipcase, no jacket (as issued). Both are in very good condition. Book is inscribed on the half title page, “To Kim, the most beautiful woman in the land, Thank you from my [drawing of a heart] David LaChapelle.” On that same page is Kim Basinger’s ownership signature. There is a full-page photograph of Basinger on page 138 in the book.
Not since Salvador Dali has an artist so vividly recreated his dreams for all the world to see, and with a color palette that makes even Technicolor seem subdued by comparison. This book was his first—how great that it is so warmly inscribed to someone depicted in the book.
