Postcards from the Edge, Signed by Carrie fisher
[Signed by Carrie Fisher] Fisher, Carrie. Postcards from the Edge. Second Printing. 1987. Book and dust jacket are both in very good condition. Signed “Carrie Fisher” on the title page.
Carrie Fisher’s breakthrough novel created a sensation when it was released, elevating her from Hollywood royalty to creative legend, a gifted and idiosyncratic humorist. It gave her intellectual cred. Autobiographical, the protagonist is an actress attempting to navigate stardom and romance in the wake of an overdose and an accompanying stint in a drug rehabilitation program. It was adapted to the screen with Meryl Streep in the Carrie Fisher part, and Shirley MacLaine playing her mother (standing in for Debbie Reynolds).
“You know how I always seem to be struggling, even when the situation doesn't call for it?”
--Carrie Fisher
