Terrell, Carl Leon. Seven Naked Women in a Tokyo Jail. First Edition. 1946. Book is in very good condition; dust jacket is in good plus condition—jacket shows light fraying and a few small tears.
Carl Leon Terrell was a handsome young man from Tennessee who wanted to see the world and did so by becoming a stunt motorcycle rider in a carnival. In between the world wars, he was based in California but performed mostly in the Far East (sometimes with his pet chimp). This is a memoir of his outlandish experiences, which indeed culminate in a night with seven naked women in a Tokyo jail. This book was published by a small Los Angeles press and never widely distributed. It is now in short supply.
“It is easy to break a law of some sort, but it is hard to break a politician.”
