[Signed] Fonteyn, Margot. Autobiography. First Edition. 1976. Book and dust jacket are both in very good condition; pages edges show moderate foxing. It is signed "Margot Fonteyn Arias” on the half title page.
Dame Margot Fonteyn was the world’s reigning star ballerina for at least a generation longer than any other dancer, past and most likely, future. She was social, using her star power to attract a diverse and interesting array of friends. This is both a personal and professional retrospective, with chapters on her partnership/rivalry with Rudolph Nureyev, successful but tragic marriage to a Panamanian politician, and her glamorous jet set years, as friend to Churchill, Onassis, and a roster of Hollywood movie stars.
“Great artists are people who find the way to be themselves in their art. Any sort of pretension induces mediocrity in art and life alike.”
--Margot Fonteyn
