It is fiction but was based upon the authors’ own tours of the Continent with their three boys. The story is told from the perspective of the father, as he reflects back on their summer holiday, which began calmly enough aboard the Queen Mary but was spinning out of control by Bastille Day in Paris and in utter chaos when the family finally arrives on the French Riviera.
