Martin, Richard. Cubism and Fashion. First Edition. 1998. Book and dust jacket are both in very good condition.
It is said that fashion races ahead of art, but that it always ends up losing to art in the end. As this excellent book illustrates, occasionally art and fashion cross the finish line together. Consider Cubism. A caveat, however, is that the real victors in that race were women, because the geometric designs inspired by Picasso, et al. at least freed them from their corsets. This excellent book was Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute’s 1998 exhibition. Illustrated in full color, it pairs Cubist art with couture, hats, shoes, and other attire.
