Though famously blasé, Andy Warhol had a soft spot for animals. In fact, in a 1980 entry in his Diaries, he recalls he “gave up caring” after the death of a favorite cat. His affection for felines is apparent in these attractive volumes, which feature primarily color but a few b & w illustrations. Both volumes were originally published privately in the 1950s in very small print runs and presented as gifts to friends. This was the first trade edition.
