[Signed] Furstenberg, Egon von. The Power Look. Second Printing. 1978. Book is in very good condition; dust jacket is in very good minus condition—small tear to front cover of the jacket. Book is signed, “To Rudy [?], hope you are going to enjoy this book. Love, Egon.”
Egon von Furstenberg, the scion of noble German family whose title dated back to the 11th Century and who was the nephew-by-marriage to Gianni Agnelli, grew up in a Swiss chateau with a staff of twenty-one servants. Eventually he opened his own fashion house, but in between, he was an entry-level buyer for Macy’s. The strength of this book of advice on men’s fashion is that he connects both worlds, advising on how one might achieve old world elegance on a department store budget.
“Following dictates is a snap. Dressing for enjoyment and self-expression is a greater challenge.”
