This book on decoration was the product of the venerable Country Life magazine, with its large photo library at the author’s disposal. It helped to popularize the principles of modern design in the United Kingdom, emphasizing functionality and flexibility. It includes two hundred fifty b & w photogravure plates divided by room (living room, hall & staircase, bathroom, bedroom, etc.). Each photo has an architect credit underneath, and there are rooms by Basil Ionides, Sir Edwin Lutyens, and many others.
