Laid in is a handwritten note from Mountbatten’s daughter. On one side, she has written “Mountbatten of Burma.” On the other, “Many thanks for your letter & I am so glad you enjoyed Philip Ziegler’s biography of my father—which I think is a quite reasonable picture of a truly great man. Best wishes, M of B, P.T.O., 26/10/86.”
