Helen Gurley Brown’s Single Girl’s Cookbook
Brown, Helen Gurley. Helen Gurley Brown’s Single Girl’s Cookbook. First Edition. 1969. Book and dust jacket are both in very good minus condition—jacket shows light fraying and minor edge tears. Drawings by Frank Daniel.
This large book is the most attractive (and least common) of books written by the 1960s icon that liberated women, not from their corsets, but from their chastity belts. Here, she leads them out of the bedroom and back into the kitchen, but even so, there is plenty of zip and pizazz. In addition to terrific practical instruction, there are amusing line drawings and plenty of banter.
“Cooking is a way to be loved and appreciated by friends and a way to love and appreciate them back.”
