Ponsonby, F.D. Senior. The Diary of Mrs. Pepys. Second Printing. 1934. Book is in good plus condition; dust jacket is in good condition—third party gift inscription, minor stains to a few pages, and minor chips & a small hole to the jacket spine.
The shortest distance between two points is indeed a straight line, but it is not always the more interesting path. As such, if one does not feel up to reading the many volumes of Pepys’ diaries, a fun alternative is this imagined version of what his beleaguered wife might have written. The book presumes she uncovered the cypher to his writings, and commented on them (to hilarious effect) in hers.
