Fishback, Margaret. Look Who’s a Mother! A Book About Babies for Parents, Expectant and Otherwise. First Edition. 1945. Book is in very good minus condition; dust jacket is in good plus condition—jacket shows light creasing, mild fraying, a bit of soiling. Illustrated by Roberta MacDonald.
With lines such as, “Our love nest, once serene and smart, would break a decorator’s heart,” this book of light verse about caring for babies might just be the perfect antidote for the new parents who have not enjoyed a good night’s sleep in weeks. At the very least, it would be suitable reading material for those 3:00 a.m. feedings. The author knew her material well. She was a glamorous career gal who wrote “Rhymes About Town” for This Week Magazine before she gave it up to begin a family. Includes b & w illustration.
“If you must give relatives and friends a date on which you expect the baby to arrive, be sure to set the great day at least two weeks beyond the time your doctor thinks you are due.”
