Judy, Signed to Mickey Deans, Judy Garland's Husband
[Signed Presentation to Micky Deans, Judy Garland’s Husband] Morella, Joe. Judy, The Films and Career of Judy Garland. First Edition. 1969. Book and dust jacket are both in very good condition—jacket shows mild fraying. It is inscribed by the author to Mickey Deans, Garland’s widowed husband, “For Mickey, Hope this helps you remember all the pleasant ‘Judys’ – This, we hope, will be how everyone remembers her – the warm-glowing talented person who gave so many hours of joy to so many millions of people, Best always, Joe.”
Judy Garland had been married to London discotheque manager Mickey Deans for three months when she died of a drug overdose in their apartment, and it was he who discovered her body. This well-illustrated book, released the following year, is an annotated filmography.
“Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.”
