This high camp parody is a mockumentary in book form, borrowing from Cecil Beaton (My Royal Past) and Patrick Dennis (Little Me: The Intimate Memoirs of that Great Star of Stage, Screen and Television, Belle Poitrine & First Lady, My Thirty Days in the White House). The comedic actress Dodie Goodman (who went on to portray Louise Lasser’s mother in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman) traces the history of women, from the oldest profession to the then most recent (astronaut). Fully (and amusingly) illustrated.
