[Signed] Hope, Bob. Bob Hope’s Confessions of a Hooker, My Lifelong Love Affair with Golf. Sixth Printing. 1985. Book and dust jacket are both in very good minus condition—binding is moderately relaxed and jacket shows a few dirt spots and edgewear. Book is signed “Bob Hope” on the title page. Co-written by Dwayne Netland, with a foreword by President Gerald R. Ford.
Bob Hope was one of Hollywood’s most avid golfers. This book, a pictorial memoir about the fifty years in which he had played the sport, is his most personal. He recalls foursomes with world leaders, royalty, other movie stars such as his close pal Bing Crosby, and golf pros like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. In all, Hope estimated he had played over two thousand courses, from Burbank to Bangkok to Brazil. The major PGA tournament in Palm Springs (Coachella Valley) continues to bear his name, and during his lifetime, he was actively involved in it.
