This ranks among the best of the books on mixing cocktails. The Art Deco cover and colorful interior illustrations are divine. First released in 1930, the book has been published in several incarnations—most of which had an entirely different cover design (Deco went way out before it eventually circled around and became a design classic). None was as beautiful as the original. Thus, this edition from the 1980s is a replica of the First Edition, but with minor updates. For example, there is a note that the recipes in the book requiring Absinthe (then illegal) can quite easily be mixed with Pernod instead.
