This was one of the most talked-about estate auctions of the last decade, which is fitting, because the Baron de Redé hosted a few of the most talked about parties of the last century. In fact, those fêtes are covered extensively in Volume II of this auction catalogue, which includes b & w photographs and color illustrations of his famous Oriental Ball and other events he hosted in his home, the Hôtel Lambert.
