Saroyan, William. The Bicycle Rider in Beverly Hills. First Edition. 1952. Book and dust jacket are both in very good minus condition—endpapers show discoloration, and jacket shows taped repairs and minor chipping.
This book is a favorite of NHL. Not only did we approve of the attractive dust jacket, but also we thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. The jacket blurb passes off this deeply moving and lyrical book as a simple childhood memoir. Doing so is like describing the New Testament as a thrilling coming-of-age story. Pulitzer Prize-winning Saroyan uses the lessons of his childhood, most notably his job as a bicycle messenger, to construct a unifying theory of everything—a “Zen and the Art of Bicycle Maintenance."
