This is a personal and insider biography of the creative force behind the Ballets Russes. It is a high quality production with thick, attractive paper and many dazzling photogravure plates. This copy is from the library of the writer Anita Loos, who was among the first in Hollywood to be accepted in the international set. She was personally acquainted with many of those in Diaghileff’s circle. Her bookplate, depicting her as the quintessential flapper girl of the 1920s, is one of the most well known from that era.
